The Dutch Gaming Authority has informed gaming halls in the Netherlands by letter of the obligation to be connected to the Central Register Exclusion Games of Chance (Cruks) as of October 1, 2021.
Cruks is an important tool to combat (damage by) gambling addiction. All providers of high-risk games of chance must have a connection with Cruks by October 1, 2021. Before a player is admitted to a game of chance from that date onwards, it must be verified whether the person in question is registered. If that is the case, the player may not be admitted. In the letter, the Ksa advises amusement arcades to take timely action, because the connection to Cruks takes some time. Amusement arcades that are not connected to Cruks by October 1, 2021, risk having their licenses revoked, among other things.
The obligation to connect to Cruks naturally applies to providers of gambling via the Internet. It is one of the conditions for a license.
