TOTO stresses that betting on match moments, such as who is the first to make a foul, yellow or red card for a player, is not part of its game offering. TOTO stands for responsible play and fair sport. These game elements do not fit in with that. This is in response to media reports of spot-fixing.
No betting on negative events is possible now or in the future
According to the licence granted under the Dutch Betting and Gaming Act (Wok), no bets may be offered on ‘negative events’ in the Netherlands. As of 1 April 2021, the Act on Remote Gaming (Wet Kansspelen op afstand – Koa) entered into force. Since then, it has been possible to apply for a licence to offer online games of chance such as live sports betting. It is expected that the first licences will be issued in October. Betting on yellow or red cards, for example, has also been made illegal for providers of online games of chance by the introduction of the Koa Act. At Toto you can bet on results or top scorers.
