According to U.S media reports, the Coronavirus has now surfaced in Las Vegas. A man in his fifties has the COVID-19 virus after he returned from a trip to the state of Washington. In Washington 11 people have now died from the virus. The man also made a recent trip to Texas.
55-year old man
A lot of tech events are organized in Las Vegas, and this year was no exception. However, things have changed now that the virus, which originated in China, has reached American soil. The 55-year old man who was diagnosed with corona has been admitted to an unknown hospital and is now in an isolation room.
Hotels Las Vegas closed
Las Vegas is home to 2.6 million people and there are 40 million visitors to the city every year. They visit conferences, entertainment and, of course, gambling. Many people use the same cards and dice and that can be a risk for contamination. Several Las Vegas hotels such as MGM Resorts International, Caesars Entertainment, Wynn Resorts and Las Vegas Sands have been closed after the announcement that someone has the Coronavirus.
Testing more people
Throughout the US, the best way to deal with the virus is by testing more people. In addition, health insurance companies are being asked to cooperate and not to send sky-high bills. Healthcare in the US is very expensive. In the American state of Nevada, where Las Vegas is located, there’s now a rule that insurers are not allowed to charge high costs for the COVID-19 test. Hopefully this will make the situation less penible for many people.
