Gambler must repay 10,000 euros in welfare payments

A Rotterdam welfare recipient must repay over 10,000 euros because she gambled at Holland Casino and other gambling establishments, and did not inform the municipality. Whether she won or lost is irrelevant. This emerged from a recent ruling by the Central Appeals Tribunal. The municipality of Rotterdam acknowledges that the law is strict, but says it must abide by it.
