L.C.S Limited is ordered to pay a fine for illegally offering online games of chance

Charge under penalty for illegal online games of chance provider L.C.S Limited. The Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa) has imposed a fine on L.C.S Limited for illegally offering online games of chance. If L.C.S Limited does not stop, the company will have to pay a fine of 55,000 euros per week or part of a week. The fine can rise to a maximum of almost 165,000 euros. Since 1 October 2021, online gambling has been legalised in the Netherlands under strict conditions. The objective is to create a safe environment for people who want to gamble online. This includes a strict crackdown on illegal providers.

Why has LCS limited been fined?

The Ksa has found that L.C.S Limited offers games of chance to Dutch consumers via at least one website. L.C.S Limited does not have a licence for this. As a result, no supervision is possible, which means that there is no check on, among other things, the fairness of the game and whether sufficient attention is paid to addiction prevention.
