Fines to National Postcode Lottery and Friends Lottery for offering illegal games of chance. The National Postcode Lottery and Friends Lottery were periodically fined by the Chance Games Authority (Ksa) for offering online games that are not allowed according to their lottery licence. Two Novamedia brands, Nationale Postcode Loterij and VriendenLoterij, have received periodic fines from the Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa). The regulator announced the news in a press release today. The lottery itself was in the news hours before the news from the Kansspelautoriteit.
Not a license for online games
According to the Kansspelautoriteit, free gambling games are not covered by the lottery licence and should therefore be taken offline. In its message, the Lottery let it be known that it was temporarily complying with the request of the Games of Chance Authority. However, Nova Media did not agree with the ruling and objected. If both parties do not stop offering these games, they have to pay a weekly fine of 250,000 euros, with a maximum of 1,000,000 euros.
