Students have an interest in the gambling and gaming industry as well. This has clearly been shown by a recent visit of 32 students from Malta University to the Experience Centre of the Betsson Group. The second and third year BSc Maths and Statistics students learned a lot and did interesting things, such as an office tour. What was the visit all about?
Gaming industry and the working environment
The young people from Malta wanted to know how their studies can be used in a real working environment, such as the gaming industry. Betsson Group CEO Jesper Svensson told them all about it during the tour. He also spoke about the organizations and it’s brand, products and history. It’s no surprise that the students come from Malta, since it has become a gaming and gambling hotspot in the past few years. A lot of gambling companies are established over there, including Betsson.
New talents are welcome
Jesper Svensson calls Betsson an ‘interesting place to work’. He leads a very diverse company with more than fifty different nationalities. A Cuban is one of them, since he or she was hired recently. Despite the huge number of employees, new people are always welcome. Mathematicians or analysts are very welcome, since they can make Betsson a better company.
Sportsbook Trading presentation
The students listened to all the stories and presentations with a lot of interest. They learned all about Sportsbook Trading, for example. The excellent presentation was given by Richard Scott, who is the Head of Trading. One of the students who attended Betsson Group has send an email to the organizer. He called it very motivational and thinks that talks were very helpful when it comes to his future studies. The fact that several departments talked about their role in the company was very useful.
Presentations from analysts
Richard Scott was just one of the people involved. Another one of them was Daniel Breyer, who said that Betsson is always looking for excellent analysts. Breyer himself works as a Marketing Attribution Analyst. During the visit he got some help from Christine Chou and Antoinette Lynch. The first woman works as the Head of Customer Research and the other women is the Head of Customer Analytics. Together they work in the Central Commercial Team. Victoria Spiteri is very content with the visit and the fact that it went well The interesting presentations and examples given by the analysts and mathematicians were a big success.
