In 2022 a state lottery ticket has become 2.50 euros more expensive and now costs 17.50 euros. That is a price increase of more than 15% compared to last year. According to the lottery, the increase is necessary to be able to pay out more high prizes. The lottery also researched the amount of money people are willing to pay for a ticket.
For the first time since 2014, a lottery ticket has become more expensive. The price for a New Year's Eve lottery ticket remains 30 euros. According to the rules of the lottery, this is the maximum price for a ticket.
More prizes in 2022
There are now more prizes ranging from 100 euros to 100.000 euros. The total winning chance of these prizes added together has therefore increased considerably. The State lottery expects to pay out a total of 450 million euros in prizes this year. Last year this was still a 410 million euro. Besides the prize winners, the proceeds of the lotteries also go to charity.
