At this moment Russia has about 182.000 millionaires, which makes the 15th country on the international list of millionaires. Recently, a new millionaire made the list. 63-year old Natalya Vlassovia, a retired woman living in the Vorenesj region, won an astonishing 7,2 million euros. It was the biggest pay out from the Russian lottery ever.
Always check your ticket again
The Russian company Stoloto revealed the winner. Natalya obviously got a lot of media attention. Funny enough she wasn’t aware of her luck first. Her granddaughter checked the Lotto ticket, but she didn’t notice that it had the winning numbers. However, the media reported that the Lotto winner was living Veronesj, a region about 600 kilometers from Moskou. Natalya decided to check her ticket again and couldn’t believe her eyes. She had won 7 million euros!
A good retirement
7 million is a lot of money. However, in comparison with other Lottery jackpots in Europe and the United States it isn’t that much. On the other hand, the average amount of money that a retired person in Russia receives is just 200 euros. Natalya Vlassovia doesn’t want to keep the money all for herself. She wants to give a part of it to charity. Good job!
