€19,679,000 for offering online gambling without a licence

The Gambling Authority (Ksa) is fining Gammix Limited €19,679,000 for offering online gambling without a licence. This is prohibited. Earlier, Gammix was imposed an order under penalty of €4 million for the illegal offer.

Highest fine for illegal casino

At almost EUR 20 million, this is the highest fine imposed by the Ksa since its establishment. In determining the amount of the fine, the estimated turnover, originating from Dutch players, as well as fine-increasing circumstances are considered. In the case of Gammix, these included the lack of age verification, the possibility of autoplay and turboplay (and thus inciting immoderate play) and other, unreasonable conditions.

Gammix offers illegal online games of chance available to players in the Netherlands on several websites (including rantcasino.com, betoriginal.com, bluvegas.com, cashimashi.com, goslot.com, nordslot.com, vegadream.com and scatters.com). Gammix has not taken any measures to bar players from the Netherlands.

Earlier, the Ksa imposed an order under penalty for illegal online gaming offerings on rantcasino.com and nordslot.com on Gammix. The illegal activities were not subsequently ceased, after which this penalty payment of four million euros was recovered in early 2023. Gammix objected to this recovery.
